The Cognitive & Socio-Emotional Development Group explores how children think, learn, and manage emotions from infancy through adolescence. We focus on translating research findings into innovative methods, tools, and evidence-based interventions that help all children reach their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n

We conduct research in developmental psychology, focusing on both typical and atypical developmental trajectories. Our studies explore various dimensions of child development, including language acquisition, reading development, executive functions, socio-emotional processes, mental health, and overall well-being. We focus especially on linguistically diverse children, those with neurodevelopmental disorders, and children who have experienced early adversity and trauma. We seek to understand how early life experiences, including stress, family and community environments, and socioeconomic factors, influence children’s development and well-being.

Our goal is to translate research findings into effective diagnostic methods, assessment tools, and interventions. By collaborating with practitioners and policymakers, we aim to support healthier developmental pathways for children and families.
